SUSTAINABILITY CONCEPT

The concept of sustainability, according to the United Nations, is defined as meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

In essence, sustainability is an environmentally conscious worldview that aims to use environmental values and natural resources in rational ways that do not lead to wastefulness, taking into consideration the rights and benefits of both the present and future generations.

The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals aim to end poverty, protect the environment, take action against the climate crisis, ensure the right to access clean water and clean energy, promote fair distribution of prosperity, and aim for peace. The headings for the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations are as follows:

  1. No Poverty
  2. Zero Hunger
  3. Good Health and Well-being
  4. Quality Education
  5. Gender Equality
  6. Clean Water and Sanitation
